Cini Shaw MA, MS CMHC, LADC, CASAC II, NCPRSS, RCPF is Chief Recovery Officer of The Lighthouse Recovery Services, in New Canaan, Connecticut. At the Lighthouse, she supervises their network of recovery coaches, residential directors and provides family support and family coaching services. She has had extensive training through CCAR on all aspects of Recovery Coaching and CMC on their Invitation to Change model for families. Additionally, she is trained in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Mindfulness Self-Compassion, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and has completed Level 3 of Dr. Gabor Mate’s Compassionate Inquiry Approach to Trauma Therapy.
Cini’s compassionate influence and support pervades every aspect of client care. Daily, she meets individually and in groups to assist those with substance use and mental health disorders, helping to explore acceptance, empowerment, emotional regulation, core belief systems and self-compassion. Cini facilities group sessions for individuals and families on a range of topics, promoting understanding, compassion and self-care.
As a woman in long term recovery and in addition to her work at The Lighthouse, Cini is committed to raising awareness about substance use disorders, reducing stigma and bringing multiple pathways of recovery to our communities. She is affiliated with several highly regarded organizations working to do the same. She is a member of the ADPC Recovery and Health Management Subcommittee as well as the DMHAS CT Peer Certification Advisory Council. She serves as a Board member of Liberation Programs, The Connecticut Community for Addiction Recovery and the Connecticut Certification Board.
Cini was named 2022’s Addiction Professional of the Year by Caron Treatment Centers.
Cini is a mother of 5, with her 7th grandchild on the way! She cherishes time with her family and time in meditative practices.
